Chef de Partie Required at Farang in London

Farang London are expanding! We’re looking to hire experienced chefs of all levels to join the family in Highbury, N5. We are also in the process of expanding to new sites in both Fulham and Victoria and require dynamic chefs to lead the kitchens at these sites also. Experience in Asian cooking is definitely an advantage but not essential as we provide comprehensive in house training; however a willingness to learn and work as part of a team are crucial requirements. Our company may be young but it is thriving with many more exciting prospects in the near future.

The Ideal Candidate:

Candidates should have:

  • At least an up to date level 2 kitchen hygiene certificate, however level 3 would be preferable, with a good knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations, HACCP, due diligence etc. and to share our desire to have high level of kitchen cleanliness at all times.
  • Good personal hygiene, professional pride and a sense of humour to work in a busy kitchen.
  • A good knowledge of British seasonal produce and preparation techniques (plus knowledge of Thai ingredients and methods would be a bonus).
  • Intermediate to advanced knife skills with an ability and desire to clean and maintain kitchen equipment/machinery to a high spec.
  • A sense of initiative, ability to work independently whilst also being able to both give and take instruction and constructive criticism.
  • A willingness to learn, evolve and build as an individual alongside the business as it too grows and develops.

We are an experienced, diverse and fun kitchen team who have worked together over a number of years to build a modern, fair and stimulating working environment; where hard work is rewarded. Whilst we have sections for service, the whole team is responsible for preparing and delivering the whole menu, where no person is left behind.

For the right candidate who is willing to push themselves, future opportunities are available to manage and work across multiple sites, festivals and private events.
